Pandangan Fans Barcelona Indonesia terhadap Penurunan Performa Klub pada Musim 2020/2021
Abstract
The decline in FC Barcelona’s performance during the 2020/2021 season attracted the attention of football supporters, including Barcelona fans in Indonesia. This study aimed to describe Indonesian Barcelona fans’ views on the factors contributing to the club’s declining performance, changes in fan loyalty, and forms of support during the crisis period. This research employed a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews, a limited survey, social media analysis, and documentation study. The data were analyzed thematically by grouping the findings into several themes: club management, financial crisis, coaching changes, player regeneration, fan loyalty, media influence, and expectations for recovery. The findings show that fans perceived poor management, financial crisis, coaching instability, and suboptimal player regeneration as the main causes of the club’s performance decline. Fan responses were divided into loyal supporters, constructive critics, and calculative fans. Despite their disappointment, most fans continued to hope that Barcelona would recover through financial restructuring, the strengthening of La Masia, and stable technical leadership.
