Dari Hati ke Kelas: Strategi Membangun Sekolah yang Emosional Sehat dengan SEL

Pendidikan memiliki tujuan untuk tidak hanya mencetak individu yang cerdas secara akademik, tetapi juga membentuk pribadi yang matang secara sosial dan emosional. Seiring dengan semakin meningkatnya tantangan seperti stres akademik, perundungan, dan rendahnya empati, perhatian terhadap kesejahteraan emosional siswa menjadi sangat penting. Pembelajaran sosial emosional (Social Emotional Learning/SEL) merupakan pendekatan yang dapat membantu menciptakan individu yang sadar diri, memiliki kontrol emosi, empatik, serta mampu membangun hubungan sosial yang sehat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan SEL di SD Inpres Liman, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan, untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang emosional sehat. Dengan menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini menganalisis penerapan SEL melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi yang melibatkan kepala sekolah, guru, siswa, dan orang tua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa SEL telah terintegrasi dalam kurikulum, interaksi sosial di kelas, dan kebijakan sekolah, yang menghasilkan lingkungan sekolah yang mendukung perkembangan sosial emosional siswa. Program SEL ini juga meningkatkan kualitas hubungan guru-siswa, empati di kalangan siswa, serta kesejahteraan emosional mereka. Namun, tantangan seperti keterbatasan pelatihan guru dan partisipasi orang tua masih perlu diatasi. Penelitian ini menyarankan penguatan pelatihan bagi guru, peningkatan keterlibatan orang tua, dan pengembangan kebijakan yang lebih mendalam terkait implementasi SEL untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih emosional sehat.
